Truckload freight refers to shipments that occupy more than half of a 53’ trailer. Typically, these large shipments are carried exclusively by the carrier from the shipping location directly to the receiving location. This results in a faster transit time than LTL shipments. Another benefit to truckload shipments is a lower risk of damage because the freight is handled fewer times than an LTL hub and spoke model.
